PeeWee has been in business in the Mount Washingto Valley/White Mountains
area of New Hampshire since 1987 when he moved here from Maine to open a
"Proud American Store" in which every product was made locally by
local artisans.
As time went on it got harder and harder to find American made products for his store, so after seeing a woodcarver in New York PeeWee decided to add these products to his American made line. Within a few years, PeeWee began carving his own bears and other large items. That was 23 years ago.
Though the Proud American Store is now closed PeeWee still carves as much for the love of it as for the income it generates. You will love PeeWee's carvings as much as he does himself. All of our products are made from kiln-dried white pine. This prevents most cracking and splitting as is commonly found in carvings made from non-kiln dried wood.
